Enabling smooth gear change, the clutch allows you to engage and disengage power from the engine to the transmission. If you notice your clutch sticking or vibrating, or if you find it difficult to change gear it's likely that your clutch may need replacing. Other signs of wear include problems accelerating (even though the engine is revving), momentary losses in acceleration on gear change, and grumbling or squeaky noises while pressing the clutch.
